Contrary to some of the earlier reviews I found this book to be well formatted (perhaps it's been updated). Dragon's Breath is formatted properly so it takes up almost the entire screen in landscape mode (there's a bit of white at the top and bottom), so is like reading an actual physical open book where you see both the left and right pages at once. The text and illustrations therefore appear on the pages together like they should, unlike a lot of Kindle picture book authors who can't be bothered to take the time to format their work and reading them is like a mess. I always like to take the time to acknowledge those who care enough about their readers and their own work to make sure everyone enjoys it to the fullest potential.Basically a kid named Joe lives with a dragon (and his parents). The dragon has decided it doesn't want to brush its teeth anymore which is obviously making it less pleasant to be around for Jack and others it comes in contact with. Joe comes up with a way to trick the dragon into brushing its teeth.
George loves to play with his pet dragon, Joe. They have lots of fun during the day, but by the time nightfall rolls around Joe's breath is stinky because he refuses to brush his teeth. The problem doesn't go away until one day George gets an idea. He knows that Joe loves to compete so he challenges Joe to a tooth brushing competition and makes sure that Joe wins. Now Joe proudly smiles and displays his crocodile smile.Children learn the value of good dental hygiene. The illustrations will appeal to preschoolers and young children, but some of the images don't mesh with the Kindle formatting. Recommended primarily for children ages two through five.
Loved it! Every dental room should buy a copy. Great, colourful illustrations. The font was clear and easy to read. Lovely humour in the message that is told in flowing rhyme--brush your teeth. A trustworthy short tale that was a pleasure to read. Highly recommended. This story was received as a free download in exchange for an honest review.
Reading a good, clean children's book is something that the entire family can always enjoy. Sometimes, however, I just wish they had a little more substance to them.
My Grandsons love these little bedtime stories. They arent to long or to short. They loved Joe the Dragon and after reading this one they even wanted to brush their teeth. What could be better than that?!?
My daughter likes it. Cute and colorful. She asked me, wondering why they only brush their teeth at night and not twice a day as she is taught.
The illustrations were quite nice and the reading rhythm was smooth. It contains a fun lesson about good oral hygiene. My complaint is that the corresponding images are not on the same page with the text.
